PROPER BAT CARE AND USE INSTRUCTION

Comments

This is a high performance product, designed to deliver maximum performance within the limits of the association rules. In order to deliver peak performance, this bat is not indestructible. In fact, it’s useful life is partly determined by the number of hard hits it takes over it’s lifetime. For this reason, this bat is designed with the intent of individual use, it is not designed to be a team bat. This warranty is limited to one bat replacement per original purchase. DSB reserves the right to refuse warranty service to any person who, in the sole discretion of DSB, abuses products and/or our warranty policy.

To Extend the life of the bat

Studies have been conducted that show that using composite (or alloy) bats start to run a risk of increased breakage when temperatures drop below 65 degrees. When it gets colder the ball is the culprit. The ball becomes denser which puts the additional stress on the bat. If it’s game day, we tell our customers to hit away, but be sensitive to the use. If it’s under 60 degrees and you are practicing we recommend using an older bat to take the punishment. Please keep in mind that if you keep your bat in the house, but keep your baseballs in the trunk of your car (outside) and head to the batting cage, that you are creating an issue. The baseballs need to be kept at room temperature as well, so remember to bring your bat and baseballs up to the surrounding temperatures.

DSB SUGGESTS, THE FOLLOWING:
•Avoid extreme heat or cold temperatures
•Use with leather covered balls only
•Limit the bat to your individual use only
•Rotate the bat 1/4 turn each at-bat
•Do not hit wet baseballs (they become heavier and denser)
•To clean your bat, use only mild soap and water.

Warning

Hitting metal cleats, rocks, or anything other than a ball can damage your bat and will void the warranty. While composite bats are more durable than wood bats, these bats can break, so use care. Further, deep scratches, nicks or dents can cause these bats to break at any time. Composite bats should be replaced approximately every 18 months, assuming normal usage. Breakage can cause injury to the batter, other players or spectators. Inspect your bat frequently for cracks, nicks, dents, surface damage or excessive wear.
DO NOT USE BAT IF EXCESSIVELY WORN OR DAMAGED.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
•Bats that have been abused, altered or mistreated
•Bats that have been used in a commercial batting cage
•Bats purchased from non-authorized DSB dealers or individuals (used market)
•Bats purchased at auction, or on auction websites
•Grip replacements
•Bats that have been rolled or shaved. Our bat separates and then paint peels off when the bat is rolled, clearly evidencing that rolling has occurred.

DSB does not approve of or authorize the purchaser to physically alter the bat in any manner for use in any game under the jurisdiction or sponsorship of an association or organization that has set standards for the performance of bats. Alteration includes, but is not limited to: bat doctoring, rolling in a vice, hitting foreign objects other than approved balls, inner wall shaving, end-loading, and any other action that is designed to change the character or performance attributes of the bat. Any suspected alteration of the bat will nullify the DSB 1 year Warranty.

We know there are people and companies that roll bats. Don’t do it with ours. Rolling a bat will separate the wrong layers on our bat and cause the bat to break prematurely.  As some of you know, when the bat goes through its certification they roll the bat to accelerate the break-in.  So we design our bat to break quicker when it encounters this stress thus ensuring we have the hottest bat that gets through the test the quickest (so that it does not subsequently fail).  The act of rolling does NOT emulate how our bat breaks-in with normal hitting of baseballs so if you roll it you are ruining your investment and not taking advantage of the technology of the bat.  Our bat will be hot out of the wrapper and will only take a few hundred batted balls to get into its highest performing range and stay there.

Note: Save your receipt as proof of purchase if you did not purchase from our website. It is required to return a defective bat. Bats returned without proof of purchase may not be covered by the warranty. If you purchased from our website, we will have a copy of your records, and you would need to verify your personal information. If you purchase from this website, a copy of your receipt will automatically be saved. All we need is your last name, city and state.
