Quick Overview

Effective January 1, 2018: all recreation baseball organizations will be moving to a new USA certified bat. Travel ball and USSSA will stay the same. Our MADE USA bat will perform considerably different than the 1.15BPF bats. The intent of the MADE USA bat is to perform just like a wood bat; therefore, the pop or trampoline of the bat will be reduced. A question we get a lot is “can I send my existing bat in and get the USA stamp?” Unfortunately no as the bats are completely different. The 2nd question is “well then I should just go and purchase a $99 bat as it's all the same?” We would respectfully argue that it is not all the same. All 1.15bpf bats are not the same and same relative principals will reside with the USA bat.

If you are on Facebook, take a look at the great reviews and feedback we are getting. MADE now has 7 sizes available. The 27/17 and 28/17 have been difficult to get through the test, so we do not think we will have these 2 sizes this season. The drop 10 bats are 2 piece and the drop 11/12 bats are 1 piece. I found Dirty South bats on the new approved Little League bat list. After 2 phone conversations with their very friendly staff, I decided to take a gamble on an unknown USA bat (DSB “Made”). I think I won. The bat arrived in PA in 2 days. I left work early to take my anxious son to the batting cage. The complex owner lit up when I said we wanted to try our new Dirty South bat. He said he had heard of DSB on the softball circuit and asked to see the bat. The DSB “Made” was a winner from the 1st swing! I was very surprised at the performance after hearing about the new USA bats. This is not quite a 1.15, but very close. There was some bat sting from inside pitches. Following the batting session, the complex owner said he was watching and was surprised at what he saw. He said he plans to get a demo bat for his softball team and will probably outfit them with DSB bats if they perform like my son’s USA bat. Very happy with this bat after 100-150 hits and expect it to only get better!

I bought my son a Made for Christmas. I was unsure, so through the Facebook messenger conversation, I was given the opportunity to speak directly with Tony. What a great company that thinks enough about their customer to take the time to be sure they make the correct purchase.

As for bat performance … I have pitched batting practice in the cage and on the field. In direct comparison to the ghost x, the beast x, and the 650 USA bats that are owned by his teammates… The Made outperforms them noticeably. My sons bat is the first Dirty South in our league of 500 kids, but it definitely wont be the last!

We hit a lot the other night with two bats, the DSB MADE and the Zen. The zen is pretty heavy , Aiden normally hits with a combat and Wanted 30/20, Mizuno Gen – 30/20 and a few others. The 30 was nothing new for him, he just tires when quickly swinging the heavy zen. He is 4’7″ tall and weighs around 70 lbs in 3rd grade and plays 9u baseball. We feel the DSB is a better bat for us. On the field, Aiden hits about 20′ further with it. Check out our video on YT here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdCJHrsHNsg&feature=youtu.be
